Baby quilt all done (a little wrinkly after it’s laundering - I launder so new parents have no fear of laundering it).
Exploring Denver’s culinary scene - trying a different highly rated restaurant each week. This week - yummy tapas!
Finished the #boxytoolpouch by #sotakhandmadepatterns - I made the medium sized one with sweet dog print Japanese canvas fabric I had in my stash. @chambersdalix @kathy_quilts @kait_sews
Found this while thrifting and immediately put it up on my studio wall!
One of those cool random discovery moments: For fun I was googling my name and discovered that one of my art quilts (“Recycled Windows”) is featured on the City of Seattle’s (Seattle.gov) website for their Ethnic Heritage Art Gallery page. What is interesting is it is not one of the four art quilts the City purchased from me for their Portable Works collection. It’s actually one that I own and I didn’t even know they had a photo of! This random discovery made me smile! #artquilts
Baby quilt top is done, made from a jelly roll. I will trim up the edges after I machine quilt it. #jellyrollquilt
Working on another baby quilt this time made from an old jelly roll I found in the back of my precut stash and using a pattern from an old book. More on my latest tierneycreates blog post... #jellyrollquilt
I’m a guest commenter on the upcoming episode of the podcast - “Stitch Please” podcast (and if you follow my blog you know how I feel about foundation paper piecing🤨) @blackwomenstitch #blackwomenstitch
OK I may have been influenced by watching too many @sotakhandmade YouTube videos but I bought a used Juki. Just got it back from the local sew & vac shop who did maintenance and cleaned it. (Oh and I’m not drinking a bunch of single malt scotch while Quilting that is actually an empty can I use for putting my thread trash in ha ha Ha ha ha @michele_lvh) #jukisewingmachine. (Thanks @quilteastwood for finding it on Craigslist for me!)
Recycled denim quilt all done and now hung above the bed! #denimquilts #wisecraftquiltsbook
It’s been like a zillion years, yes I’m that old, since I hand tied a quilt. I forgot how relaxing and meditative it is! #denimquilts #wisecraftquiltsbook #quiltingismytherapy
Recycled denim quilt all sewn together and I found a perfect backing fabric at a thrift store a couple weeks ago! I’m looking forward to hand tying the quilt just like the pattern creator did! #wisecraftquiltsbook #denimquilt #denimquilts
All the squares are done on my recycled ♻️ denim quilt! Now I have to sew it all together! 🧵 🪡 #wisecraftquiltsbook #denimquilt #denimquilts
Living in Colorado is a unique weather experience! Saturday it’s an absolutely gorgeous 65°F - It’s an exquisite Spring day. This morning I wake up to this……(and it’s 28°F)...
Mike the Miniature Schnauzer had an awesome morning wandering about the REI/Starbucks complex and Platte River area in downtown Denver. It was in the mid 60s F and people were out and about bike riding and walking about on the gorgeous day. He even got a puppachino from Starbucks and then passed out cold on the ride home. Can’t believe we were just in a blizzard and next week the snow is going to hit again!
Happy mail just arrived! My friend Wendy was kind enough to share a whole bunch of zippers from her large stash of zippers from an art quilt that she made out of zippers! Now I have plenty of zippers for bag/pouch making 😀😀😀🧵🧵🪡🪡
The tierneycreates Beastie ventured in to the snowstorm and did not care for it. She shares her experience in the latest tierneycreates blog post.
Staying busy in my studio during the major Colorado snowstorm! Here’s a little tour of the current state of my studio.
I’ve started working on the quilt pattern by @blairs that I’ve been salivating over for a couple of years - all recycled denim/jeans #wisecraftquiltsbook #denimquilts
Deep snuggling in a quilt is very important to miniature schnauzers who’ve been playing hard in the snow and are now cold!
