Hey it’s Mike the Miniature Schnauzer that lives with/manages Tierney and John. Usually I write my own blog posts (yes I’ve learned to type without opposable thumbs) but this time I had to dictate my post to Tierney because I am in A CONE!

Can you tell how irritated I am with the humans?
Just because I had a weird growth on my back, which turned out to be harmless, and had it removed, does not mean I can’t be trusted not to lick my stitches.
I kept trying to reason with my humans to remove the thing. Here I am glaring at a human sitting on the loveseat next to the couch:

I think this is a plot by my female human to have someone else in the household who looks injured. I tried to intimidate her by staring at her knee scooter:

Nothing has worked and allegedly I have to wear this thing for 9 more days. I am going to keep giving them the “furry eyeball” and staring them down until they consider removing this thing.

The humans keep commenting on how cute I look in my cone. Why don’t they try wearing cones for a while?

Hahaha, this post was too funny! Poor Mike, but he does look adorable in that cone! ( and, having a mini schnauzer ourselves, we are totally familiar with that look!).

Poor Mike! But I hope he realizes how lucky he is to have a designer cone. My poor dog had to wear the basic plastic one because I never thought of making him a nice soft one!

I was really impressed with that con, Jon selected it from the vets office options! I guess someone is a smart crafter, making money from doing cute cones!

And here Mike, I thought that you were wearing a sympathy cone in support of Tierney’s ankle cast. I’m so glad (and I’m sure your humans are too) that the growth was completely harmless. Maybe if you start barking annoying songs like “21 bottles of beer on the wall” or the “wheels on the bus go round and round” they’ll take the cone off quicker;)

Try this Mike. Ask them to let you wear a styl’n t-shirt for the remaining nine days. This worked out well for my sister’s Golden Retriever. Hope this helps.

We did consider a T-shirt, but where it’s located, Mike could easily get under the T-shirt and play with his stitches. Every time we takeoff his cone to let him eat, etc. he starts checking out those stitches! 😀

Maybe your injured human should wear a cone and gloves so she won’t scratch at her cast…just trying to support you, Mike.

Poor Mike! What a nice looking cone. Did you find a pattern for it? I’m planning ahead for when my dog inevitably hurts herself.

No, John chose that cone from the vets office. It was more spending than the regular plastic cone but I think if you got a look at it cone all the time you might as well get a cute one.

I’m glad the little guy is ok. That cone must suck, though.

He seems to be getting used to it
Even if he spends a lot of time pouting 😀

Mike, You’ve not gonna believe me – but on Wednesday around midday when I was bussing over to my afternoon activity something unusual caught my eye (out of the window) there was this caramel colour dog wearing a “cone” not as pretty as yours. So what was he doing – well he wasn’t glaring at anyone, in fact he wasn’t even with anyone – he was strolling up Avonleigh Rd, “sniffing the pole power” conveniently placed their on his walk!!!
He didn’t seem to have a care in the world – I hope he found his way home…

I feel you! My grand-dog calls it the “cone of shame”. At least yours appears custom made!

OH Mike – your humans just want you to heal up and feel better soon! At least you have a very stylish cone and look even more dapper than usual 🙂
