Thought I would close out my series of posts about my visit to the Oregon Coast at the end of July 2023 with a couple favorite photos from the ca-zillion (an even higher number than “zillion”) photos I took during the trip.
(If you are just joining us you can catch the rest of the story in this series of posts (scroll down when you click the link to get to the 4 earlier stories from this trip) – Oregon Coast Adventures.)
Our Oregon based friends MJ and J who know the Oregon Coast very well, took us on road trips from Newport to Florence, Oregon along Highway 101 . Many of the photos below are from those stops and apologies I do not remember all the names of the places so I just omitted them – ha!
It was so wonderful to be back in Pacific NW and walk among the old growth forests/trees – oh how I missed them and their dense foliage! I remember many a wonderful solitary or group hike in these types of forests during the 22 years I lived in the Pacific NW (8 years in Seattle, Washington and 14 years in Bend, Oregon).
I’ll close out this post with what might be my favorite photo from the trip:

I’m speechless, these are gorgeous pictures Tierney! I need to get out of the house and travel! Thank you for sharing.

Thanks so much I am glad you enjoyed them! Yes – get away from those sponges filled with bacteria (that post made me laugh and creeped me out, not sure I will touch my sponges again – ha!) and have an adventure again 😉

Hi Tierny, now it is the time I could not resist to write to you. Long time I follow your blog. Love all the stories and work. We plan a big travel over the ocean to visit Oregon, and for sure Sisters and Stiching Post in Bent. Hope i can catch such views as well!! Is September a good time to travel there? I get every issue from quilt folk and it will be so nice to find the pages with you!! Greetings from Germany

The photos from Oregon are just lovely. I especially like the juxtaposition of trees and sea, a reminder of the healing power of nature and the abundance of natural beauty that surrounds us. Thanks so much for you lovely blog.

I always have wanted to live near the ocean. Not going to happen in this lifetime, but I am ok with it, and I really enjoy visiting either in person, or in awesome photos as you showed us.

I think I could easily live in Washington or Oregon. You must miss it, especially those gorgeous trees. I’m glad you got to visit with friend. Your photos are lovely.

I do miss it but there are awesome things about Colorado and I have this sign up I look at everyday that says “Be Here Now”, so I am trying to be and embrace/love where I live now but it is fun to visit my old stopping grounds 🙂

Looks lovely. I’ve only ever done east side Canada and New Hampshire but always thought I’d really like the North West. I like weather and seasons so nowhere too south and who doesn’t love a bit of rugged coastline!

I am a mountain inland person now but I do love to occasionally be on the coast – any coast – coastlines and oceans are so magical! 🙂

These are beautiful places…I always thought the Oregon coast was foggy/misty so these clear panoramas are a surprise for me.

Thank you and we only had fog one morning. In the winter it is more foggy but the summer can be so gorgeous!

Thanks it was magical! John said “and I thought Colorado was beautiful” – he’s lived in CO all his life so it was a major comment for him, ha!
