Knit and Crochet Away!

Something portable on the needles…

Yes it’s another hat…

I am a nervous passenger in the car and need to be working on a craft project to distract me.

Since I am finishing up the border on the grey granny square blanket (see post Guest Blogger Post: The Granny Square Blanket SHOULD Be Done…), I am “granny squared out” and not really into working on the squares for another blanket.

So it was time to start an easy mindless project – a hat – in the same pattern I always use – ha!

Me in the car, knitting away from my passenger seat…

It’s actually going to be a two yarn hat as I am using up two different smaller leftover balls of yarn. I had enough of the variegated yarn you see in the photo above to get that far and now I am adding in a denim-ish colored yarn that is close to one of the colors in the variegated yarn.

We’ll see how it comes out…it’s for me anyway so as long as it is a functional hat I am good!

Oh a friend sent me this the other day and it gave me a giggle, so I thought I’d share with you all and I hope if you have a dog they do not need to contact this “Pawfirm”! (Mike could contact them as we are guilty of this…)

  1. I cannot seem to get into the craft or sewing idea in the car – I should maybe give it a try, though, before I decide I can’t, right? Haha! I like your hat colors, and that meme makes me chuckle!

  2. Higgins says he is fully aware of treat sizes, and just stands there till we hand over the rest of it, but he is a very entitled doggo. I can’t do hand work in the car, our roads are mostly too bumpy and I get nauseous, not to mention the risk of stabbing myself multiple times with a needle. Ah, the joys of travel in North Queensland, where the government doesn’t think it needs to spend any money on infrastructure outside the major cities…

      1. Huge country, small population, and the further north you get the fewer taxpayers there are to support proper maintenance. We are resigned, but it’s infuriating to see good roads in the south of the state, because State Capital blah blah blah.

  3. I’ve seen that Pawfirm on Facebook, and it makes me smile every time. I’m impressed that you can knit while in a moving car. Do you ever feel car-sick? I’m a nervous passenger as well, so I can appreciate how valuable it is to have a project on the go. I love that shade of blue!
