When I returned from our trip to Asheville, NC I had a package from my sister.
She surprised me with an early Christmas gift – a box full of kimono fabrics from Japan!
My sister has a friend who imports kimonos from Japan and she had had a collection of kimono obi sashes that were no longer needed. She thought I would be able to recycle the fabric into something else.
Challenge accepted!
Oh, gorgeous, but also Oh, challenging! Beautiful fabrics, but they can be so hard to work with. I think you’ll be delighting us with something spectacular soon!

I was thinking the same thing! I started to take one apart at the seams and started thinking – beautiful fabric but this will be a challenge, not like working with cottons!

Not at all like cotton! The fraying, the slipperiness, the way the fabric won’t lie straight along the grain. But SO beautiful.

Fun fun fun! Do you think some will go up in your Etsy Shop as bags?

Perhaps, I hope so! I am still working on getting the bags I’ve already made up on my Etsy shop, ha 🙂

I agree, thanks! I can’t wait either, ha! I have to put it aside for now as so many other things in queue 🙂
