It’s the 15th of the month and time for my monthly “ScrapHappy” post as part of the ScrapHappy group I belong run by Kate and Gun. At the end of this post I have a link to the other blogs participating in this monthly event in case you’d like to check out their ScrapHappy posts.
Here is an update on the VERY SCRAPPY Farm Girl Vintage Sampler quilt I am working on (see my ScrapHappy May 2024 post ScrapHappy May 2024 – Update on Scrappy Farm Girl Vintage Sampler, an old UFO (unfinished object for the non quilters reading) that I began at a quilt retreat after being lured in by other quilters at the retreat to work on with them (even though I am not a “farm girl”), when a group of us got obsessed with the book Farm Girl Vintage by Lori Holt.
Since posting on May 15th, I’ve completed one block (see post Block Design Board for my new tool for laying out blocks), a basket block.
So now I have 20 blocks done and have 5 more to make to complete the quilt top:
I also made all the lattice strips for the quilt so I will be ready to put the quilt together as soon as the 25 blocks are done. The strips are longer than my design wall I laid one strip on the floor of my studio to show in an image below:
Here’s a photo from the May 2024 ScrapHappy post to remind you (or show you for the first time) of the planned layout for this quilt:

I do love that grey marl fabric for your sashing strips. Perfect choice! What a lot of work you’ve put into the quilt – you’re in the home run now.

I’ve used ScrapHappy this way myself, more times than I care to remember. Sometimes the ‘pressure’ of a deadline is all that’s needed to extract the digit and press on.

We do even if it is sort of artificial pressure – ha! 🙂

Oh I do love a scrappy quilt ❤ I’ve often thought about doing one of these quilts but I just don’t have the stamina for it, so I’ll live vicariously through you 😀 You’re making great progress and I love your scrappy lattice!

The blocks can be tedious but you do get a big sense of accomplishment after you finish each one (or perhaps my threshold for sense of accomplishment is low – ha!)
