I needed a portable knitting/crochet project for riding in the car and I decided it was time to start knitting another hat (same pattern I always use!):

I looked through my hand knitted hat collection and noticed that most of my hats are either medium or dark colored yarn and I don’t have any light colored hats. I found this variegated cream and light brown yarn in my stash.
Slowly making progress and looking forward to my new hat 🙂
Very nice and it looks super soft Tierney!

It is a pattern my friend who got me into knitting hats gave me. Very simple:
ROLLED HAT
Cast on 90 stitches with size 6 circular needles
Knit around with the size 6 needles to 3/4 inch wide
Change to size 9 needles
Knit to 6 inches (or a little longer if you like)
Then to decrease/finish off hat:
Row 1 – knit 7, k2tog
Row 2 and all additional even rows to 14 – knit around
Row 3 – knit 6, k2tog
Row 5 – knit 5, k2tog
Row 7 – knit 4, k2tog
Row 9 – knit 3, k2tog
Change to double pointed needles
Row 11 – knit 2, k2tog
Row 13 – knit 1, k2tog
Row 15 – k2tog
Break yarn and thread yarn with yarn needle through all stitches, pull tight to close and weave in at top
