My friend J and I went last evening to see Kaffe Fassett speak at Hotel Clio in the Cherry Creek area of Denver.
If you are not familiar with Kaffe Fassett, according to Wikipedia he is “an American-born, British-based artist who is best known for his colourful designs in the decorative arts—needlepoint, patchwork, knitting, painting and ceramics“
In the quilting world his fabrics a pretty popular, actually iconic. They are primarily bold and colorful florals and geometric patterns.

The evening with Kaffe Fassett and his partner Brandon Mably, who is part of the Kaffe Fassett Collective Designer group which includes Phillip Jacobs, was sponsored by Pink Door Fabrics.
All attendees received a copy of Kaffe Fassett’s latest book Quilts at an English Manor House.

Kaffe Fassett’s talk was very interesting. He focused on his love of color and how he moved from knit pattern design into fabric design.
This was the second time I’ve seen him speak, the first time was in a small classroom at the Stitchin’ Post in Sisters, Oregon many years ago. It was a much more intimate setting.
This time I was in a large conference room at the hotel:

We couldn’t take photos during the presentation but here is Kaffe Fassett and Brandon Mably signing books after the presentation:

J and I didn’t wait in the long line to get him to sign our books. I’d chatted with him in person many years before in that more intimate setting, and had him at that time sign one of his books I owned.
As much as I love his fabrics I was good just seeing his slide show and hearing him speak about his artistic journey.
