The Library Stack

Library Stack Catch Up

Currently I am working on a small art quilt from recycled clothing but I am not ready to share it on my blog yet, so instead I am catching up on my ongoing series, The Library Stack, sharing my latest* stack of borrowed books from my beloved local public library.

*This photo is actually from a couple weeks ago and I confess, this is not my current library stack. Currently I have NO LIBRARY STACK!

I am taking a break from stacks of crafting and home decorating books and I am actually reading ONE fiction book from the library – a classic science fiction book – Darwin’s Radio by Greg Bear.

I am “stack-less”!

Although I am not ready to share my latest art quilt, I can share another of my latest creations: a new knitted hat!

Yes, it is the same pattern as the other knitted hats I have shared in other posts. I am a one trick pony when it comes to knitting hats. I have other patterns but I love this pattern – it is so comfortable to me!

I love to always have a knitted project going for knitting while watching TV or if I am attending an event and I need to keep my hands busy.

I have another skein of the same yarn for my hat and I am thinking of making a coordinating ribbed scarf.

  1. It was a nice library stack. I have just purchased a secondhand ‘Mollie’ book – Patchwork and Quilting not Crochet. Just wondering how you found the Mollie book. In mine there are lots of projects, many of which do not appeal, but some do (otherwise I wouldn’t have purchase it!). You never know I might actually make something from it and show off here one day. But I have a huge stack of craft books ..

  2. I have found myself stack-less, as well. I have started to read books from the library on my iPad. I love to feel a book in my hands, and there’s not much sweeter than piling my arms full of books from the library – one of my favorite places on the earth. But the iPad is much more convenient and I can increase the font size!! Ha!
    Cute hat! Good job!

    1. Thanks so much for your comments and yes there is something very pleasing about leaving the library with a stack of books that I could see the appeal of using your iPad instead😀

  3. Great library stack this week. I’m really interested in creating “the style you crave on a budget you can afford” (sign me up for style on a budget!). I enjoy the small spaces titles, too. The Apartment Therapy website also has some interesting readings on small spaces as well.

And YAY to a new knitted hat! It looks great, and you’ve chosen a lovely yarn! I’m a huge fan of the knit hat and glasses combo (mostly because it’s my necessary winter-look as well, lol). A coordinating ribbed scarf sounds great; making ribbing is so much fun, especially over TV at the end of a stressful day! Knitting is where I find my little corner of calm. Have a great weekend, Tierney! 😀

    1. Thanks so much! I hope you have a great weekend too! I appreciate your comments, enjoyed reading them 🙂
I was working on the scarf the other night and for some reason forgot which direction to purl – I have only been knitting so long I forgot my purl stitch – yikes! I had to look up a tutorial to see where to place the needle for purling lol

  4. Heehee, I always love having a nosey at your library stack… Whether it’s current or not! I’m excited to get back to Dublin and start hanging out more at my local library – that’s definitely on my to-do list for the coming year. Your hat is also awesome, and that’s a great photo of you modelling it too! 😀

    1. Thanks so much! Now I would think with all those Beastie travels and shows you would not have time to just hang out at the library! Do you have a librarian Beastie? That would be adorable! 🙂

      1. Ooooh, good idea! I’ve sent many a Beastie on their way with a book in their paw (in fact, the first Beastie accessory I made was a book, so they had books before they had clothes!) but somehow I never thought to take that to its logical conclusion and make a librarian. Let’s fix THAT in the new year! And I’m sure I’ll be able to squeeze in some library time somewhere… I have new skills I want to learn this year, and I’m hoping my local library will be able to provide the books I need to do it! 😀
