I fell off the “blogging-wagon” again as I’ve been involved with summer travel, most recently it’s been a couple Canadian Provinces in August – Vancouver, British Columbia and Toronto, Ontario. We also had cool train rides from Seattle, WA to Vancouver, BC; and from Buffalo, NY to Toronto, ON.
We just returned from a week in Toronto and I made several trips to Indigo – Canada’s largest bookstore, specifically one at Eaton Centre, where they had this awesome (and so true) display on the wall from the first to second floors:

It’s difficult to read but it lists some of the great Canadian writers, musicians, artists. etc. But all I could see were the words I was definitely feeling: “The World Needs More Canada“.
Yes I am currently having a love affair with Canada (can you tell?). I appreciated being welcomed with open arms by the kind people of Canada even though I am from a neighboring country that is not too popular in the world right now!
This short post is just to wave hi to my blogging buddies. I think I am going to backtrack to May on my pre-summer travels and catch you up on our travels (the tierneycreates Beastie even came along on one of the trips).
For now here is a cool photo of John and I from our travels. He used a photo editing feature which turns the photo into a pen drawing!

Sounds like you have been having fun. I look forward to tales of your adventures 🙂

I am so glad that you enjoyed your Canadian adventures! As a Canadian myself and someone with family and friends in the US I know that it’s the citizens that truly make our homes wonderful! 💗

It is! We experienced a lot of kindness, especially while in Vancouver, we stayed at the kindest hotel I’ve ever stayed at! Will share more whenever I get around posting about that adventure 🙂

I visited Vancouver this past May too. I enjoyed the people and places so much, I was almost considering dual citizenship. My Uncle lives on Denman Island, and it is an artist community, the best of all worlds.

I agree. We just got back from a trip to BC and Alberta, National Parks and Museums free courtesy of PM Carney. We also went to Indigo Book (in Calgary.) Quite a store.

Awesome Tracey and I find myself now addicted to Canada but I cannot return until next year (if they will still allow Americans in , ha!) Your trip sounds awesome!

we are waving back from Canada, sounds like you had a very enjoyable trip. I’d have to leave my wallet and credit cards at home if I ever visited the Indigo store. Love the pen drawing, a clever idea. Take care 🙂

Thanks for stopping by and I did get in a bit of trouble at the Indigos in Vancouver and Toronto I visited. We spent a hour or more sitting around each of their respective coffee shops. The one in Toronto has leather couches and a potentially illegal level of cosiness!

Oh, I am constantly falling off the blogging train. Sometimes life gets so busy, and that’s not a bad thing! I have never been to Canada. Maybe when I retire.

You will have a great time and I loved Victoria, Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal (2 years ago). We are returning to Victoria next year and we want to see Quebec City in the future!

By the way John did that with some AI tool – no human was involved – I am not sure how AI does it but we thought it was amazing to convert a photo to an ink sketch!

Yes, it is amazing. The sketch would be a really good ‘pattern’ for a stitched portrait
