Quilt Retreats, Tula Time!

The Votes Are In!

Thanks so much to everyone who voted on the setting triangle color for the fussy cut Tula Pink All Stars block my Quilting Sister Dana has been working on at our annual May Quilt Retreat!

Here were the options to vote on:

We cut off the voting at 10am so Dana could get the block assembled before I leave to take a bus back to Central Oregon.

Votes were tallied from the previous blog post comments, from people at the retreat and from my personal Facebook page.

It was very close but Teal won by two (2) votes!

So Dana made up the block with the winning color:

And here is the whole group of. blocks so far:

Dana plans to make 18 blocks from the 6 different animals in 3 colorways.

The six (6) animals that she will fussy cut are: bees, squirrels, owls, frogs, raccoons, and a fancy birds. According to Dana the fabric line is called Tula Pink All Stars because Tula Pink brought back her most popular retired lines and updates the colors.

Several of you suggested yellow and Dana said that would been a great idea but she did not have that as a fabric option in the Tula Pink solid fabric line.

Thanks for playing along ๐Ÿ˜€

Oh and I am super behind in blogging – I have a backlog of stories to share, stay tuned ๐Ÿ˜€

  1. Luckily I read this one before the vote post so didn’t spend much time pondering–I did lean to teal though in the little time I did spend. Don’t forget to show us the finished quilt.

  2. Teal was a great choice, especially when you have all the blocks together.
I am looking forward to your posts.

  3. I love those fabrics. The patterns and colours are wonderful. I guess one of the joys of quilting is being able to use so many of them in the one piece. โ˜บ๏ธ

  4. Please tell your QS Dana, Bravo! ! I love these blocks and the fabrics ๐Ÿ’• I missed the vote but totally agree with the teal choice, it ties everything together and makes the squirrel shine.

      1. Thanks so much and I did pass it along! We did not have WiFi at the retreat so I had to use my cellular data to post so now I can go back and properly respond to comments ๐Ÿ™‚

  5. Glad to read that the quilt retreat is (was?) underway. I think the teal looks great and was the way to go for this block – it really pops and pings off of the little bit of teal in the center. ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Thanks we had a lot of fun and now I am back home and back to work tomorrow, sigh. I think the block turned out great and I cannot wait to see all the combinations she does with the other blocks. I will ask her to share the photo of the completed quilt for me to share on my blog ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Oh wow… I am SO glad I was too late to vote on this! I was totally in Camp Pinkish Lavender, but the minute I saw the teal block I knew the internet had made the right choice for you! The block looks great, and pairs nicely with the other squirrel piece beside it in the layout. Now I’m looking forward to reading what you all got up to at this year’s retreat!

    1. Yup you are a little late to vote – ha! But I appreciate you sharing your choice and it was a very close vote – see maybe if you had voted it would have swayed it ๐Ÿ˜‰
Slowly I will get out those retreat stories as I am so backlogged with stories but my pay the bills job has been so busy it is difficult to want to get online and blog after a long work day ๐Ÿ™‚
